Delete your data
You should have full control over your data. This page explains exactly what Flight Tracker stores, what you can delete yourself in seconds, and how to ask us to remove anything held by our service providers.
The short version: almost everything Flight Tracker knows about you lives on your device and nowhere else. Uninstalling the app deletes it. There is no account to close, because Flight Tracker has no accounts.
What you can delete yourself
These take effect immediately, and need no request to us:
- Search history: open Flight Tracker and go to Settings → Clear Search History
- A saved flight: swipe it to the left in your saved flights list
- Notes on a flight: delete the note, or delete the saved flight
- Everything stored locally: uninstall the app. Android removes the app's entire storage, including the database of saved flights, your search history, and your settings
You can also clear local data without uninstalling, from Android Settings → Apps → Flight Tracker → Storage → Clear storage.
Turn off what is collected from here on
- Analytics: opt out in the app's Settings
- Personalised ads: reopen the consent form from Settings and change your answer, or reset your advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads
- Location: revoke the permission in your device settings
- Notifications: turn them off in your device settings
What data exists, and where
Stored only on your device
- Search history — the flights and airports you looked up
- Saved flights and any personal notes on them
- App settings — language, theme, country/region, notification preferences
None of this is ever sent to us. We hold no copy of it.
Held by our service providers
- Firebase Analytics — non-identifying usage events (which screens and buttons you used) tied to an app instance identifier, not to you. Deleted automatically after 14 months
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash reports with a stack trace, device model, Android version, and app version. Deleted automatically after 90 days
- Google AdMob — your advertising ID, used to select and measure ads, subject to the consent choice you made
- Google Play Billing — subscription records, if you have ever subscribed. These are held by Google and we cannot delete them, as they are also financial records Google is required to keep
- Aviation Edge and Open-Meteo — receive the search terms and coordinates needed to answer a request. Neither receives an account, a name, or an email, because we do not have any to send
What we never collect at all
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Payment or financial information — subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play
- Photos, videos, files, contacts, or messages
- Your location, unless you grant the permission and use a location feature
How to request deletion
To have anything held by our providers removed, email us. The link below opens your mail app with the request already written — add your device details if you have them, and send.
Or write to us yourself:
- Email: info@apperssystems.com
- Subject: Data Deletion Request
- Include: your device model, Android version, and app version, so we can identify the right records
- Response time: within 30 days, and usually far sooner
What happens next. We confirm receipt, ask your provider-held analytics, crash, and advertising records to be deleted, and write back to tell you it is done. We cannot delete data held on your own device for you — use the steps at the top of this page for that — and we cannot delete Google Play purchase records, which Google keeps as financial records.
